Orc Giant on its way to our lines
Crossbowmen overlooking the battlefield from the great wall
The enemy lines
Pikemen protecting the crossbowmen and wizard bane chanting the crossbows

We are just pawns in an arena for the gods' said the general to his wife when he left to join the battle to defend the great wall. That was the last time she saw him.

Turn 1

The crossbowmen launched their bolts over the battlefield, aided by the jar of four winds, and hit the giant the Orcs brought with them. The wizard's Bane Chant failed. Then the canon volleyed it's deadly load over the once so beautiful plain. It missed.

On the left side the general and some of his knights made themselves ready to handle the Fleabags, mawbeasts and other greenskins trash. On the right side the Ogres came to aid bringing a giant as well.

The greenskin army hesitated and didn't fully march on only trying to hit our giant with some skulks arrows.

Turn 2

Another volley at the giant from the crossbowmen, protected on the right flank by pikemen. Other bowmen moved forward facing some trolls and the general marched to meet the mawbeast on the battlefield. The canon hit the green tide hard killing of some cowardly orcs. Men tasted victory in their mouth as an orc unit was killed by the bolts the crossbowmen launched.

Turn 3

The giant was getting closer and the general took a very big risk. He charged the foul beast to slow it down. Unfortunately it didn't go down and dealt 6 wounds to the general. But he prevailed and halted the giants progress. Meanwhile our own giant started to stump some cowardly greenish orcs and managed to waver them. Even if they lost another unit they managed to oppose our brave men.

Turn 4

Our general, wounded, charged the mawbeasts and he managed to hit them so hard they wavered. Our crossbowmen, bowmen and canon drew green blood and we loved it. But there was a bad omen. Our knights charging the other mawbeasts, wiping them of the planet, were flanked by fleabag riders and outright killed because they didn't manage to move out of their line of sight after they took the charge response from the mawbeasts. Cursed creatures. Meanwhile one of the orc chieftains charged our giant and killed the poor creature as well. The Ogre warriors stepped in keep the green horde at bay. Cursed trolls kept regenerating, and shaman trash was hurling lightning bolts ast our troops

Turn 5 :

The enemies' giant managed to batter and route our bowmen. The general hurried back out of range of the fleabags & mawbeasts to hit it in the back. The beast fell. Our crossbowmen kept their stand while our canon was assaulted by the mounted orc general. Damn you crawling vermin. Miracles do exist. It survived the attack (snake eyes roll at nerve test). Our ogres however were killed already and the only line of defence between our crossbowmen and the enemy were pikemen. They stood their ground and sis-kebabbed some orcs. But their overwhelming numbers prevailed. Meanwhile a lot of units were on our side and we needed to consider the fact we need to move over to the other side to win the battle. But with only one turn left this was impossible if an extra turn wasn't rolled. Should we stay or should we go? What a clash.

Turn 6:

Decide to take our chances the general , his wizard (or call her sorceress if you want), started galloping to the enemies side. The crossbowmen followed knowing they wouldn't be able to shoot in the turn. The fleabags tried to halt them but by cheer luck they didn't manage to do so. If we are able to get some extra time... We might end up in a draw. A penny for your thoughts general ! The greenskins started to turn around. Should they follow yes/no? Stupid greenskin brain. They have their objective. Why can't they stay at bay.

Turn 7:

Luckily time was on our side. We managed to get on the other side of the map. With a bit of luck this battle ends up in a draw. But no... This orcish wizard cast a fireball and the general meets his end. Cursed creature! And now the orcish horde relentlessly charges our crossbowmen in the back slaying all brave men giving food for the necromancers & nightstalkers. Only that damned sorceress managed to survive this onslaught. All looked so great but the odds turned on us like a bad diceroll.

DaSedaZa : I could see it coming … But I took the risk for bringing my general over the tablehalf … Otherwise I would ve lost anyhow 🙂

    Great battle …

The first rounds I thought I was going to loose this one due to the enormous amount of shooting – that crossbow unit with bane-chant ( piercing 2 ) – was killing me but somehow the odds changed as of turn 3 … Managed to kill some of the harder, mobile units like his giant and knights … and my giant kept on surviving his nerve test with 7 wounds …

In the end I could do some good charges and I had my wizards wipe out his general with the fireball spell (7 wounds inflicted ) and lightning bolt (1 wound inflicted) … He didn’t see that one coming when he recklessly moved his general into my half of the table … but very close to my wizards …

“Massacre” … da green boyz are feesta tonighta !

Cheers mate … Hope you had as much fun reading as I was playing … even if it was a massacre.
