Edge of the Abyss

Prince Gildor's small fleet was in the Low Sea of Suan when the Green Lady's envoy arrived. The sylph talon rider brought grim tidings of the Abyss growing and evil forces on the march. The lands of the dwarfs were under threat from the north and there was no time to wait for reinforcements. Gildor sailed his fleet to the nearest port, where he recruited a small ogre mercenary company to bolster his numbers. They marched north, hearing rumours of a vile undead host advancing through the Halpi Mountains.

In the foothills, they came to Temple Watch, a high hill overlooking the ruins of an ancient Vantorian temple. GIldor had planned to man the abandoned watchtower of Temple Watch, but before he would get chance the abominable shrieks of a two-headed undead dragon came from the skies.

The elves and their ogre allies spread out to encircle their enemy, arrows flew, magical lightning bolts rained from the sky and hundreds of the rotting host were killed. The kindred archers found their mark and the undead dragon was slain. Sensing victory was at hand, Gildor led the charge on the left flank along with his elite palace guard. However, the infamous Lady Ilona was leading the undead and she took great delight in slaying the elven prince personally, as her minions tore apart his bodyguard.

The battle was brutal for both sides, with neither being able to claim it as a victory, but he vampire Lady Ilona left the field feeling satisfied. There was just something so delicious about elvish blood...
