Edge of the Abyss

Short summary:

Abyssals had a flying circus, Brotherhood countered with 3 regiments of knights, chaff, 2 beasts and 2 fliers of their own.

The scenario (invade) made this hard fort he Brotherhood fighting this flying circus. This was solved by bunching up all the knights and hard hitting units on one side of the battlefield while the abyssals spread out, counting on their mobility to counter this.

This proved to be a costly mistake for the Abyssals. After both archfiends spent their first turn lightning bolting the knights, the knights advanced, the exemplar forsaker, reconnoiterers and order of the forsaken threatening the gargoyles.

Gargoyles charged, taking out the chaff, while both archfiends couldn’t get into position to threaten the knights lurking behind the fliers and chaff. Next turn, knightly charges took out the gargoyles while good positioning giving both archfiends only a frontal charge to either flier or the villein initiates. The archfiends charged, but couldn’t rout the initates together. The tortured souls threatened the rear of the knights, but couldn;t charge themselves.
In the meanwhile, the forsaken beasts held off the abyssal infantry. One died to the succibi, the other held, taking out a troop of fleshlings too.

Turn 3 for the Brotherhood decided the game. A combined charge of exemplar forsaker and blood-of-the-old-king boosted order of the forsaken finished one archfiend, while the order of the abyssal hunt and villein initates boosted by the darkness lute killed off the other. The tortured souls were duly ignored, but the after-rout repositioning made sure all the knights covered each other.

The single surviving beast charged into the succubi, binding them in place one turn longer.
Next turn, the tortured souls routed the order of the forsaken with sheer luck, but were dispatched by the knights the turn after. The infernal infantry, having finally disposed the forsaken beast, were to oppose three regiments of knights and an exemplar forsaker. Their leader, knowing this was pointless, duly ran.

In short, my opponent conceded.
