Angry at their rough handling, the Varangur track out heros/band of jerks to the Ardovakian plain.
This one is going to be quite a bit shorter than the others, as I don’t remember the blow-by-blow details.
EoD list:
I took the Idol of Shobik and 2 Scorpions.
2 skeleton regiments, mummy regiment, Revenant regiment, and Guardian Horde
Varungur List:
2 raider regiments, 1 regiment of Fallen with Herja nearby, Foot regiment of Sons of Korgaan, horde of thralls, horde of tribesmen. He also had 2 cavern dwellers.
In the center, it started out well enough- with good surging, the mummies, revenants and one skeleton regiment all pounced on his thralls and killed them in one turn. The problem was that the mummies couldn’t hold off the tribesmen and a Cavern dweller, who rolled up the battle line. The idol of shobik and the other skeletons bounced off the sons of Korgaan, sadly.
Over on the right, the 2 scorpions bounced off the dweller and herja. The guardians routed the fallen without much difficulty, but then did 2 wounds on a flank charge on the dweller. With the Guardians routed, I was down to a Pharoh and Priest.
On a last note, the Pharoh (lifeleech and regen) and Herja (lifeleech and Iron resolve)were in an epic duel! However, neither one was going to be able to kill the other, so we called that part a draw.
Tactical Notes:
Giants+another hard hitter make a very mean combo.
My supports were poorly placed- after my initial surges, they were in the wrong spot for inspiring And surge.
Postsript:
Aisit the Priestess opened a portal to the tomb city and jumped in. She tried to tie off the magic spell soon enough, but sadly Nekheremet made it through before the portal closed.
“Well, that could have gone better” rasped Nekheremet. “I almost had that demonic woman on the ropes!”
Aisit Sighed. Why did she have to be this jerk’s priest?
Nice little bat rep/story
I apologize for the lack of pictures- I have to remember to take them!
I have one more battle report this week (with pics!), and then we are doing a 6 player mega game on Saturday.
Will Nekheremet pull his head out of his rear end? Will anyone remember Aisit’s name? Will I finally get a chariot horde to work?
we will find out!
Nice batrep, poor Aisit.
Nice reading, though some pictures would be appreciated. Good luck in your battles!
enjoyed the postscript narrative!
