VS Ogres

The Pharaoh sent his army through a portal, since trees are in short supply in the wastes. Unfortunately, there were some Ogres already there at an all-you-can eat Elk fry.
EoD setup from Left to Right:
2 Scorpion Husks
2 Skeleton Regiments, supported by the Idol of Shobik.
Revenant Regiment and troop
Mummy Regiment, supported by a naked Pharaoh and a Priest with both heal and surge.
Guardian Horde with Blood Boil

Ogre Setup (from EoD’s left to right)
Boomers
Goblin exploding cart
Siegebreakers
Warrior Horde
Shaman
Mammoth
Giant
Grakagamak
Horde of braves
Shaman
Boomers

On the Left, one scorpion sacrificed itself to the boom cart, and lived. It then lived through a turn of boomers,a nd charged the siegebreakers in the flank (while 1 regiment of skellies and the Idol hit the front). The siegebreakers evaporated, and the 1 remaining scorpion and 1 skeleton regiment cleared out the left, while the rest of the skellies and Mr Shobik turned to the center.

In the center, there was a large mass of hills and woods that was avoided until the late game. The Idol of Shobik and the skellies defeated the warrior horde by the end of the game.

On the right, the first thing was the mummies getting dual surged into grakagamak. They did some wounds, but were annihilated. The revenants (with their troop getting surged around) held off the poor-rolling mammoth and giant. The Guardian horde defeated the Braves after a couple of turns, but were seriously injured (thankfully, there was a forest between them and the Ogre boomers and shaman).

The Pharaoh held Grakagamak off for a turn (man, those guys are tough), and wavered him. So, last turn, the Guardians turn around and Bloodboil Grakagamak. This, in a somewhat fluke dice roll, kills him. The pharaoh kills the giant, and the revenants waver the mammoth. Ogres get last turn, and can accomplish very little.

Tactical lessons for EoD:
The Idol of Shobik is very good
Pharaohs are great roadblocks- good def, regen, healer friends, good nerve.
Guardians with bloodboil are good, but the unit they are fighting needs damage on them, and they need a surge source nearby.
I’m not sure revenants are worth it- I would rather have skellies or mummies.
Speaking of, mummies are weird- they can take an absurd amount of damage, and consistently deal 4 damage to darn near anything in the game. But unsupported, they will die, and they don’t deal enough damage to kill stuff in 1 or 2 turns. They need to be part of a battle line.

Postscript:
Nekheremet surveyed the battlefield. His father would be pleased at all the trees ready for harvesting. It was so odd, serving ones father after death- both of your deaths. ‘An endless life of servitude’ he thought. A regiment of skeletons marched past and into the forest to chop wood. ‘Well, could be worse. At least with superior embalming, one still has a soul’.

A Priestess of Isis sauntered up to where Nekheremet was musing. “The fallen have been reanimated. What is the will of Pharaoh?”
“We stay here until enough lumber has been passed through the portal. Then, we march East to the crack in the Abyss itself.”
