So againg battle on Ardovikia Plain again stubborn desert undead. My pre-battle thought was to make battery position from the hill on my side and center other units around. But my opponent negated this strategy by deploying nearly all units in fat right corner and one unit of Worms to flank my shooters.
So I had to made few changes and result you can see on first picture of deployment.
My left flank is defended by heavy cavalry with support of mage with bane chant. My right flank is form by flanking force (heavy cavalry, princesses and mage with inspire).

Post battle thoughts.
My left flank heavy cavalry was well placed to defend and then support center line, but if the worms endure charge, i would be hard pressed to destroyed them.
My right flank was not so well placed. I often forgot, that i don´t need to place units on the line. So first volley of shootings waver my heavy cavalry and then second destroyed them. On other hand, my princesses was able harass enemy chariots up to 6. turn!
My center was mess from beginning. The battery of bolt throwers was able shoot after third turn. The large unit of archers could fire from third turn. My horde of spearmen was in great danger from flanking charge from behemoths.
My luck was, that opponent didn´t take opportunity in the beginning, when my force was in disarray. Then, when my center consolidated and shooting line was well position, my opponent had very small chance to breach my defense.

OK, I have suspected you made an excellent use of the bordering/closeness of the hill and the forest. Good work!

  • Kasumi says:

yep, these balistas were on the hill and at same time within the forest

    Thanks!
You are right, these desert bastards 🙂 will surely rise again, because I wasn´t able to kill any priest 🙁

ad Behemoths) I was little bit lucky, but not so much. Horde of archers + regiment of archers + 2 bolt thrower + 17 lightnings = cca 10,5 wound. Behemoth has nerve 16 .

While going through the report I do not get quite how the two behemoths got killed so easily. I guess both of them were just shot at. Were the balistas on the hill and at the same time within the forest so they could target them easily. Still an achievement to kill two def 6 monsters in two rounds of shooting …

Wow, wonderful report! Congrats on the win, though the Empire will rise from the Dust again and hunt your elfs’ sleepless nights. 🙂
