Edge of the Abyss

This battle at the edge of the abyss, the herds forest rave got disturbed by the uninvited Undead party crashers so the horn of war was blown and the Herd rushes out to meet the Undead head on.

Set up :
I wanted to try something different in this game, as I usually do. Made a strong center with the stampead leading the charge with chaff and brutox as flank protection. My right flack was my fast lycans trying to run through to threat the back field. On my left flank I had one lone lycan horde just chilling outside charge range to try to deny the Undead that flank.

Turn 1 :
Both armies just moves up but nothing else really happens. Some positioning and I put my armies just an inch short for the Undead just to walk into combat and with three surge casters I know a maximum och three units will be charged.

Turn 2 :
Undead moves up and think my plan is a cunning one staying a litle outside his walking distance and surges two of his elite units into combat. His wights on my right and some beefed up bone men in the center. Then his third surge he did something unexpected , he surged up his right flank zombies and he rolled a bit to good and now my left flank was in charge range of his zombies flank. He the roles very poorly on nerve test and my right flank holds !!!
In my turn I charge up the middle , I chard on the left and the right , and undead flesh was spread far and wide, it was glorious ! (I rolled very well and two of his main units get vaporized)

Turn 3
Undead counters with some shenanigans with flying wraiths and rear charges my brutox same time a skelly horde takes the front. Poor brutox, never knew what hit him !
I try to retaliate but the brutox mate is now heartbroken and roles so poorly so poorly , so my left center do more or less nothing. On left flank I manage to kill of the zombie legion to turn around before his werewolves rear charge me. On my right my lycans have a field day , munching bone left and right and push into undead back field and now they feel hungry for flesh and lick there lips to the scared little man standing there waving bad magic around.

Turn 4
Allot of huffing and puffing this round on both sides. My back field babies eat the necromancer and moves on to his rear center. MY center manage to get a bucket loads of his on his center z-legion , but the abominable dice roles snake eyes !
My left flank lycans got eaten very quickly and now his werewolvs are in my back field !

Turn 5
Undead kills of my center left and re position to receive my charge and he survives it. Nothing else to be said about turn 5 really.

Turn 6 , last turn
More huffing and puffing from both sides as our collective steam have ran out. I manage to kill the skellies and we just position our self in case we go to turn 7

Conclusion
Was a blast , death and blood everywhere and it was a brutal fight. Had it's ups and downs for sure. After the last dice was thrown we had to see who had won, was not easy to decide just looking at what was left on the field. It ended with a slim victory for the Herd.
