I stood in the Way and I watched. I saw the Shining Ones – those with cold white hearts, who long ago would not venture into the Utterdark to save those they lost there – I saw the Shining Ones – those who would not take one step to help – I saw them compound their sin by sending their armies to bar the door to those they abandoned. In the Twilight of the Glades, the Darkened longed to return – to open a great door for more of their kin to return home.

Beings of Light swept in from the East, but could not scare the Scarers. The Light burned against the Dark, but the Dark remained. Worms devoured the wings of Light and those made fiendish tore out the cold white hearts of their captors' servants.

To the West, white knights, brother and sister, shook off the clutches of the grasping shadows to butcher those who would butcher them. The brother fought with an angel by his side; the sister fought with a dragon by hers. But the dragon abandoned the sister, and the angel's soul was taken by the Reaper. Brother and sister fought on and cut down many dark forms dispelling great horror. But the brother fell to the Reaper first, and the sister's soul followed soon after.

The dragon sought to punish the worms for their blasphemous act, and summoned a greater knight from the East. Many worms fell to claw and lance, and many remained. The worms shrunk back from the beast and did not dare take his wings.

The Spidermen did mock at those riding mere horses and were cut down for their insolence, though their sacrifice did slow those Horsemen.

The dragon again abandoned his knight and moved further East to destroy other Spidermen, and his knight prevailed against the worms, scattering them back to their holes. The Reaper struck this knight, once and again, before cleaving heart and soul. The dragon turned its breath on the Reaper and destroyed him.

The Horsemen taunted by the Spidermen saw more of their foes that the Dragon did not vanquish. They let pride rule sense and charged those they made fiendish. They slew those spiders, but their hearts and bodies were drawn from their true purpose. In ages past, they made an error of not going far enough. This day, they made an error going too far. A sliver of soul given to the Dark. Their bodies too far from the Door to prevent its opening.

The Reapers watched. They stood in the Way. And Utterdark came upon the Wood.

We played dominate, and it was a very, very close game. By rights I should've lost. The central paladins should not have charged the fiend in turn 7 - it took them millimeters out of the scoring zone. If they had stayed put, NICKL would have won. Sorry the pictures seem to be in the opposite order. The first/last picture shows you just how much of the paladins was out.
