Edge of the Abyss

We played mission 3 from the campaign book. The mission slightly favoured the Abyssals as the slowing of charge distanced hurt the Netricans more has he needed to close to fight me whereas I could shoot him at range and burn units down with the Efreet while moonwalking backwards.

He came hard at my left flank with his Placoderms, Trident King, Wrym Horde & Nokken Screen. while there was a ranged standoff on my right flank between his Knuckers, Wyrm character & my Tortured Souls.

On my right flank I checked his advance with Gargoyles & Succubi while I shot his up with firebolts, shooters, x2 Efreet & Chronos.
Once the left flank was won I could turn my attension to the right flank & shoot & burn those fishmen too..

I think Ed made the mistake of being too cautious on the right flank, by not engaging me I had too much time to deal with the left flank, I think we were both surprised on how quickly I was able to deal with the Defense 6 placoderms though.

During the game I rolled 3... yes 3 double 1s for nerve checks on my turn 3.. however it didnt really effect the game as I was so far ahead by that point it just delayed the outcome rather than change it.
