Edge of the Abyss

The first battle

1st Turn
Chief Nightcleaver orded his forces forward, to get in to position. He knew that in a one on one fight his forces would end up as dinner for the orges if he wasent carefull. He orded his scurries and weapon team forward, to the nearby hill. Nightcleaver him self, went to left flank, simply because there was better escape routes if things went sour. To left flank he had orded his enforce Stiktail to make his forces motivated. Somewhere out in the field the assain he hired to disrubte the enemy hopefull did his jo to get closer. The catapult fired its payload, but did not hit its mark.. maybe nextime.

The ogres responded in kink, moving forward to prepare for a close combat. On the right flank, there was a lot of smoke and screams of pain, as the ogres shooters have hit there mark, making the rat line falter, they even managede to hit the catapault, and made the crew wawering. The ground trembled under heavy feet.

Turn 2
On the left flank the shock troops charged into combat, hitting the ogres hard, but failed to break them in any way. A horde of rat warriors took position i path securing there flanks against attacks. On the right flank, the weapon team, fired on the a big group of horde warriors. But failed to do enough dammage to stop the ogres for advanding. The scurries throwed a lot small weapons, hitting more on there mark. A group of fanatic blight troops, attacked the ogres shooter, which made them wave. But the catapult was silent, and the same happend to a group of spearman, recoving from the ogre shooting. The assain mad a surprise attack on a group of red tribe goblin archers, which mad them rout, and running of the field. The secret weapon of the rat army, the deathengien, fire green lighting down on top on the ogres advandcing on the midel.

The shock troops, did not survive the charge from both the ogres and warlord. they were all brutally beaten to a pulp. At the same time the ogre middled marched down towards the rat horde. The orgre warbeast with its giant cannon, charged forward, and destroyed the the weapon team on the hill.

Turn 3
On the right flank the spear warriors have finally found their courage and charged the ogre war beast from behind, but did only manage to irritate it. The same happened for the blight, but magade to make the ogre boomers wave again. The catapault managed to miss its target… again. On the right flank the a regiment of spear warriors moved into position, and a group of rat brutes charged forward in a frenzy to kill the firs enemy they saw. The Ogre Warlord took a few scratches but hold his own against the attack. The death engine continued to fire against a heavy armourd ogre group, but did not seem to have much of an affect. The assain tried to throw knives in the back of the ogres on the right flank, but missed his mark completely.

Out of the forest, the ogres giant advance forward, to the surprise of all the rats. The war beast of the ogre turned around and destroyed the spear group who had attacked it from behind. The Siegebreakers where finally in a position to attack the horde, holding a pass in the forest. The warlord and his warriors destroyed the brutes. The warriors turned toward the rat horde to hopefully support the siegebreakers next turn.
Turn 4
The rat horde kept its postion, supported by the death engine still firing at the Siegebreakers. But still not enough damage to make them wave. The catapult hits first time and finally hit an enemy ogre unit on the right flank. The blight finally managed to destroy the boomers but was now stading in a bad position. With an orgre horde in front of them. The scurries moved forward and keep throwing knives into the orgre horde on the right flank. The spears group on the left flank along the with the assaisin, charged the warlord, but did only manage to waver him.

The ogre started with a brutal charge on the right flank against the blight and totally tor them apart. The warbeast with the canon chargede the scurries and ripped them apart. On the middle the Siegebreakers made a charge, and they where very close to rout the rat horde, only because the of the death engine and and Nightcleaver presens. The other ogre group was not it range for the charge of the horde. The giant charge straight ahead ripping the catapult apart, then turning to prepare for a charge against the death engine

Turn 5
The enforce ran from the right flank to the middle to get away from the ogre horde. The death enigen made a turn and start shooting at the giant and managed a few hits. The skaven horde charged the rat ogres and managet to rout them. They choose to turn around to help against the incoming giant. The ogre warriors moved to top of the hill, and the ogre beast tried shooting at the spear group on the left flank. Know the ogre Warlord made a surprisingly charge at against the assains almost routing him. The giant hit the death engine , and managed to give it a few dents but not enough to do anything.
Turn 6
The rat war chief and moved a bit back to secure some of the timber. The rat horde and death engine charged the giant and made him rout. The spear group moved up to secure some more of the forest in the ogre deployment zone. The enforce stood still In the middle and holding to parts of the forest.
The ogre Warlord tried to denie the spear rat regiment the victory point, by charging them, but he only manage to waver them.
