This battle saw Jarvis from the Good Kingdoms of Men take on Grimtungs' Evil Orcs in Battle 4 of the summer campaign.

Jarvis' zombie legion would gain life-leach (2) instead of 1 if they sat on an objective, which they did.

Deployment saw all 3 catapults have good fire arcs on units of Orcs. Two on the far right flank and one in the centre. With a hoard of archers camping on an objective in a swamp and the Zombies within walking distance of another on a Hill. The Zombie Trolls guarded the flanks of the Zombie legion. The calvary deployed in the left of the battleline along with the Zombie Dragons.

The Orcs had two wardums, a flagger with banner of Griffin as well as Grumtung himself. Battle groups were formed around these behind Orcling chaff. Crucially they had more drops and countered the Zombie Dragons with a Winged Slasher, Great Axe and Moraxe with brew of Strength.

Turn 1:
The Orcs moved up, leaving their chaff behind to grab objectives. The Winged slasher raced up 20" and pivoted out of arc of the Zombie Dragons.

The Zombie Dragons pivoted, moved 10" and nimble pivoted so they couldn't be flanked and could breath attack the Winged Slasher. The calvary moved out of charge arc of the Winged Slahser. The Zombie Legion and Zombie Trolls moved up to claim an objective and life-leach (2) on the Legion.

Jarvis double bane changed the hoard of archers which along with 2/3 vicious catapults did around 3 wounds each. Their targets all held steady though.

Turn 2:
The Winged Slasher played more games went further around the Orc merry-go round hut putting rear pressure on the cavalry and one catapult.

The Orc Battleline continued their advance. They tried to charge 14" into the Zombie Trolls but Javis spotted that Grumtung didn't give +1 speed to the Trolls and it failed.

The Moraxe and Orclings multi-charge the Cav and killed them in one go.

The Zombie Legion and one unit of Zombie Trolls killed a wounded regiment of Axe and the Calvalry charged a unit of chaff through the forest.

The archers backed up out of charge range and softened up a target of Axe, wavering them with assistance from the catapults.

The Zombie Dragons moved into range of the Moraxe and breath attacked them. They thought they were out of charge range but Grumtung was rather sneaky next turn.

Turn 3:
The winged slasher ate the catapult in the centre of the battlefield for breakfast.

The Orc Trolls front charged the Zombie Trolls with Orclings in the flank, which were both hindered. They popped their Zombie cousins all too easily with Def 4+ and no Regen despite their 175 point cost.

The 2nd Unit of Orc Trolls got started on the Legion. Regen was high on both units of Orc Trolls despite good shooting from the catapults over the height 1 units.

The 2nd unit of Zombie Trolls moved up to prevent a double flank attack. They smashed the regiment of Axe into double 1 territory after the archers and catapults hit them last turn. But they failed to route them with a double 1.

Turn 4:
This where it all came undone. Jarvis knew he couldn't let anything with crushing strength (2) charge the Zombie Dragons. But Grumtoung re-deployed and gave the Moraxe with brew of strenght an extra 2" on the charge.

The Zombie Dragons got their revenge on the Moraxe but couldn't get out of range of the Winged Slasher.

Turn 5:
The Winged Slasher finished the job of the Moraxe and took off one of the Zombie Dragons.

The Legion was gone due to a Troll Flank charge.

The Zombie Trolls could only counter charge after a double 1 last turn. The lone Zombie Dragon couldn't revenge on the Winged Slasher due to his charge arc. So he got started on the Great Axe.

Turn 6: It was all over. The 2nd Zombie Dragon fell along with last unit of Zombie Trolls.

The critical mistake was to allow the Winged Slasher to charge the back Zombie Dragon out of arc of the front one. I should have gone D6 forward instead of do nothing.

Javis' Lady Vampire friends :P

I intially took Javis to get into the spirit of the Summer Campaign. However I think Jarvis is great. I would totally take him again in normal KoW. He’s gret value for 140 points with very inspiring, heal, bane chant, surge and lightning bolt all with an extra 6 “.

The mat is from one of Canberra’s two FLGS: Three D6. As in they own the mat not they sell it. I don’t know where they got it.

The Vapires are both female, one’s naked, the other has a whip. Javis is a ladies man 😛 The models are from the Bones line. I think technically they are succubi models.

    I’ll post a picture.

No sparkle needed. Jarvis found two vampires with a conscience. 😛

  • Corathan says:

    Only fairies sparkle 😀

  • Croathus says:

Great batrep, I’m just curious as to how Jarvis convinced not just one, but two vampires to join his ranks… the rest of the undead I get, but the vampires always seemed a bit wonky to me… Did they sparkle?

  • Keef Ditchards says:

I think the mat used is Sands of Time from Gamemat.

I’m enjoying reading about the whole Jarvis Undead Combo.
I like the mat you use for the battlefield. Where did you get it from?
