Deployment

Six portals to the Ways were opening on the field of battle, as the elves present his defense against a horde of undead. Four objectives were in the center of the table, near the lake, in the forest, next to the tower and over the hill. The other two were on each forest on both deploy zones.

My deployment, from left to right, front to back, was: Lycanis, Zombis Reg., Zombi trolls Horde, Revenant King on horse, Werewolves Horde, Zombi trolls Horde, Zombis Legion, Liche King on horse, Wraiths Reg., Zombis Reg., Liche King on horse, Lycanis and a Werewolves Horde.

Elves deployment, from left to right, front to back, was: Dragon Breath (the little dragon commanded by two elves), Drakon Rider Lord, Noble War Chariot, Drakon Riders Horde, Kindred Archers Horde, Elven Mage, Army Standard Bearer, War Chariots Horde, Elven Mage, Stormwind Cavalry Reg., Drakon Rider Lord, Stormwind Cavalry Reg., Drakon Riders Horde and 2 Bolt Throwers.

I was planning going for the 3 objectives on the left, but he deployed his Drakon Riders near the end and I have to divide the Werewolves, which I use to mantain together as a very deadly team.

Turn 1

I advance with everything, noticing after my moves, I had the Zombi trolls near the center to exposed to his archers. But I was a little more worried about my right flank: if I run for the Bolt throwers, he has his cavalry and drakon raiders ready to destroy my werewolves... if I keep the distance, he can shoot at them. I choose to keep the distance to see his reaction.

On their turn, the elves go aggressively on the left while sitting and shotting from the right. The Drakon Rider Lord moved next to my Lycanis and show him his Diadem of Dragon-kind wavering him. The Drakon Riders Horde charge to my Werewolves but fail to rout them. The Zombi trolls at the center suffer a lot of wounds from the archers but mantain its position. The Lycanis on my right (hidden behind the trees in the picture) received the shots from the Bolt throwers, but resist most of the damage.

Turn 2

On my left flank, I charge his Drakon Riders with both of my Zombi troll hordes and the Werewolves, destroying the flying lizards. The Zombis Legion rush foward moving and pushed by the Liche King's Surge. I charge his Chariots using my Wraiths and his cavalry with my Lycanis. I guess I was trying to disturb his left flank (right on the picture) in order to advance with my Werewolves. Obviously, both hold their positions.

Here we made the mistake of the game, as his Drakon Riders charge the flank of my Wraiths through the sight blocking forest.

On the left, his Noble War Chariot charge my Werewolves expecting to rout them, but failing to do so. The Drakon Rider Lord keeps showing off his Diadem to my Lycanis without to much result. The Dragon Belcher flames the Zombi trolls near the forest almost routing them, but just almost. And on the right a multiple charge from the Drakon Rider Lord and Drakon Riders Horde completely destroys my Wraiths, while the cavalry routs the Lycanis.

Turn 3

Lots of things happened in my third turn.

On the left the Zombis Reg. charge and destroy the Dragon Belcher, the Zombi trolls were surged toward the flank of the Drakon Rider Lord and destroyed him, and the Werewolves counter-charge and rout the Noble War Chariot.

On the right the Zombis Legion Surge-charged the Drakon Riders Horde flank, while my Werewolves charged their front. Obvioulsy... SNAKE EYES!

Nothing to see on the left. At the center, the archers change their facing while the mage blows off the Zombis Reg. using a fireball. Both cavalries charge and destroy my Werewolves. Drakon Rider Noble and Drakon Riders Horde charge my Zombis Legion, but they hold.

Turn 4

On the left I get to Surge-charge his archers with my Zombi trolls Horde (both Revenant King and Liche King surges), but didn't made enough wounds to rout them. My Zombis Legion on the center routs his Drakon Riders Horde. while my Werewolves try to move where the action is.

On the center (maybe left now), his Mage moves behind the trees and throw a fireball toward my left Zombi trolls Horde. The other Zombi trolls are counter-charged and routed by the archers. The Werewolves are violently shooted by the Bolt throwers, wavering them. Both Drakon Rider Lord and Stormwind Cavalry charge my Zombi Legion and make a ton of wounds, but now is muy turn... SNAKE EYES!

Turn 5

That snake eyes really help me. On my left, the Zombi trolls charge and rout the Mage. At the center, the Zombi Legion destroys the elven cavalry while both Liche Kings kill the Drakon Rider Lord using their Lightning Bolts. The wavered Werewolves just look toward the archers.

The elves decide to take the things more seriously and wipe out the Zombi trolls shooting with their archers, the Werewolves using their Bolt throwers and the Zombis Legion shooting with the chariots.

The thing look like a draw, as my sneaky Zombi Reg. on the bottom have all the time control of the forest portal, while the Lycanis on the far left controls another one. On the elves side the Stormwind cavalry has the one over the hill and the War Chariots the one in the forest.

Turn 6

But in my last turn the Liche Kings show they are the true leaders of the undeads. Both cast their Lightning Bolts towards the War Chariots and manage to rout them. Meanwhile, the Revenant King, wanting to be no less, charge the archers. He didn't rout them, but avoid their advance toward the objective on the forest or their shooting at the Lycanis. The Zombis Reg. moves to the sides just the needed to avoid a cavalry charge.

And the battle finishes with a victory for the Undead, as the elves little can do to secure more portals.
