Edge of the Abyss

"When Jarvis heard about the misterious power arising in the hearth of the elvish home, he had no doubt he must investigate in order to find a tool, a weapon, to use against the Abyss. Jarvis never thought to enter the most sacred lands of the elves with his entire army, but the reports from the scouts of a massive orc horde rushing toward the glades change his mind. The orc shamans should not be allowed to siphon the misterious power. No scout had detected any presence of an elven army strong enough to stop the green skinned beasts. He never knew if the orcs really went for the Ways."

It was a hard battle. A 5000 points game (5k each side) at a standard 6'x4' table forces to use many waves tactics, you like it or not. No flank can be easily won by speed. One need to outmaneuver the oponent in a closed battlefield... it's really very fun to play. Four hours of fun. :D

The Orcs started their first turn advancing with precaution. I was using my Undeads and rush a little on both sides of the centre of the table. On my left flank I threaten his units with a couple of Werewolves hordes, while try to stop his advance on my right flank with a Lycan and using the advantage given by a forest. In the rest of the battle the Orcs went for the kill, while I tried to manage my losts and pushing where I could always looking for the control of the objetives. The loses were more than I expected, as the orc army massacred unit after unit, but I manage to keep a good position to control 2 of the 5 objetives and challenge another 2. But in the last turn I made a mistake and didn't sacrifice a Liche King in order to avoid their challenge of one objetive I expected to control by their Ax Legion. The Orcs could win the battle, as they miss an objective on their own deployment zone, if they had not been so focused on killing the undeads.
